FUN Park Grant

The FUN (Facilities for Underdeveloped Neighborhoods) Park Grant Program is designed to assist cities and counties in developing basic neighborhood outdoor recreation facilities. These grants are targeted to areas of the state that do not presently have facilities, or whose facilities are inadequate in size or scope to meet local needs. If you presently have recreation facilities, you may wish to consider the Matching Grant. The Outdoor Recreation Grants Advisory Committee will determine annually the total amount to make available to the "FUN" Park Grant Program. Each grant award is $45,000.00.

Grants are available on a competitive basis to cities and counties who own or will acquire suitable property of outdoor recreation use. Only projects to construct outdoor facilities are eligible for funding. Indoor facilities are not eligible for grant funding.

Only unincorporated rural communities in each of the 75 counties and incorporated cities with a population of less than 2,500, as established by the 2010 census, are eligible for grant funding.
